Between strength and delicacy, the flower as a pictorial territory
These monumental flowers are not botanical representations in the strict sense: they are visions, organic emergences, fragments of infinity gathered from the very matter of painting. The backgrounds, worked in successive layers of acrylic, oil and raw pigments, bear the traces of the free gesture. Light plays on the transparencies, glides over the reliefs, caresses the fragile petals as if to animate them from within. Before these works, one feels a sense of calm and vitality combined — that familiar sensation that nature provides when you take the time to lose yourself in it.
